and obtain coach passes. You can obtain a coach registration form by
contacting recregistrar@wvysl.org.
Please turn in your completed form with your photo (1" x

The league recommends recreational team coaches to

completing form 1628 (available from the registrar) and submitting
it to the registrar with a photo and a copy of CYSA coaching

Following are the deadlines and late penalties that the league has
set. The deadlines late fees have been designed to encourage
coaches to submit their applications promptly. Checks for late fees
are payable to WVYSL.
IF YOU COACHED A CLASS I OR CLASS III TEAM IN WEST VALLEY IN THE
PREVIOUS YEAR: The deadline for submitting your
application without penalty is Dec. 31st of the year previous to the
year you are applying for. If your application is received between
Jan. 1 and Jan. 31, you must also include a non-refundable late fee
of $100. If your application is received between Feb. 1 and
Feb. 28, you must include a non-refundable late fee of $200.
If your application is received between March 1 and March 31, you
must include a non-refundable late fee of $300. No
applications will be accepted after March 31.
IF YOU COACHED A RECREATIONAL (CLASS IV) TEAM IN WEST VALLEY IN
THE PREVIOUS YEAR: The deadline for submitting your
application without penalty is Jan. 31 of the year previous to the
year you are applying for. If your application is received between
Feb. 1 and Feb. 28, you must include a non-refundable late fee of
$100. If your application is received between March 1 and
March 31, you must include a non-refundable late fee of $200.
No applications will be accepted after March 31. (The league
recognizes that coaches coming from the recreational area may need
extra time to organize their program, often from scratch, while
returning Class I/III teams and others usually come in with fairly
intact programs.)
Applications will also be accepted from coaches who did not coach a
team in West Valley in the previous year. The deadline for
submitting your application without penalty is Dec. 31st. If
your application is received between Jan. 1 and Jan. 31, you must
also include a non-refundable late fee of $100. If your
application is received between Feb. 1 and Feb. 28, you must include
a non-refundable late fee of $200. If your application is
received between March 1 and March 31, you must include a
non-refundable late fee of $300. No applications will be
accepted after March 31st.
For recreational coaches who may be considering moving to the Class
I/III program, the league put together a document in fall 2001 which
is still useful: "Making
the Decision to Move into Comp/Select Program". This
information is helpful for parents and players as well.
