Coach – Scott Hughes (vps@wvysl.org)
The West Valley United ’99 (under 10 Spring ’12 / under 11 Fall ’12) competitive boys team is forming for the upcoming year. This is for players born after 7/31/1999. The team is looking for players that want to improve their skills and play at the competitive level. The team will focus on building technical skills, ball control and tactical skills in a fun environment. We want to develop talent in a positive setting with other motivated kids.
This team is coached by Scott Hughes, a former College Goalkeeper who continues to play the game in various adult leagues in the area. He volunteers on the WVYSL Board of Directors and currently is VP of Soccer. Scott also just completed a year as Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission for the city of Campbell, a volunteer position which is appointed by the City Council.
Scott is a licensed coach and continues to develop his coaching education.

About WVYSL
West Valley Youth Soccer League (WVYSL) is a non-profit, 100% volunteer organization, serving the youth of West San Jose, Campbell, and portions of Saratoga, Los Gatos, and Cupertino. The league was founded in 1968. WVYSL offers recreational, competitive and select level of plays for U8 to U19 players, and Micro soccer for U4 to U6.
WVYSL is affiliated with California Youth Soccer Association North (CYSA_N), US Youth Soccer, and US Soccer
.All WVYSL coaches are mandated to take Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) courses, and uses iSoccer standards for player skill development.
