WV Sparks FC will compete in the CYSA-Cal Soccer League – Copper Division, for Fall 2010. We also plan on participating at Pacifica Coast Cup at the end of August, as well as District Cup. Our goal is to encourage the girls to build competent individual technical skills, along with developing strong tactical proficiency.

WV Sparks FC finished as runner-up, 8-2-0, in Class 3, C bracket, for Fall 2009, our first season as a competitive team.

We are a multi-sport/activity friendly team. The team is made up of girls that love to play soccer, yet also may have other interests and commitments outside the game. Our goal as coaches and trainers will be to cultivate that love of soccer, while accommodating those other endeavors.

Sparks FC is managed and coached by Eric Matson. Eric has over 10 years experience coaching at both the recereational and competitive levels. He has a Regional Diploma from NSCAA. Eric also played his youth/competitive soccer with WVYSL.

Eric Paulson will return as our trainer for Fall 2010. Eric brings a wealth of experience and passion for the game of soccer. He is widely known and respected in the local soccer community. Eric has successfully coached at the Class 1 level for the past seven years. In addition to training club teams, Eric led the Westmont Varsity Girls team to the Santa Teresa Division championship this past season.
