The West Valley Wildcats are a U12 Girls (00G) team coming off a strong season where we took second place in the Copper division, finishing just out of the top spot based on the tie-breaker.
Head Coach, Pat Mitchell, has been coaching kids for 9 years and has NSCAA Junior Level VI certification. Assistant, Joe Valdez has CYSA Level E/D certification. Trainer Jon van den Berg has CYSA Level D certification and 13 years experience coaching kids soccer (2-3 teams per season).
We are focused on developing a love of soccer in each and every girl and helping the girls to be successful in life by:
- focusing on teamwork
- building confidence and resilience
- demonstrating the link between effort and attainment of goals
Our coaching philosophy aligns well with the format of the Positive Coaching Alliances “Double-Goal” Coach coarse, which all three coaches are certified in.
Training is focused on building a solid foundation of soccer skills and small side play where those skills can be developed and continuously evaluated. With a favorable player-to-coach ratio, the girls get a lot of individual attention and direction. Having fun is also a key element of all practices and games and the girls have established a great level of camaraderie.
We play fall and spring seasons in CYSA and play in about five tournaments a year. Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays with start times adjusted based on sunset.
If your daughter was born on or after 8/1/00 and is interested in trying out for our team, please contact our manager. We are actively looking for a girl interested in playing goalie at least one half per game. Training will include both team training as well as dedicated goalie training.
Go Wildcats!!!
