We take a 3-4 week long winter break, and a six week long summer break, and we are usually off on major holidays. In the pre-season, the girls typically play a scrimmage a week. Optional clinics and training are available throughout the year, as well, and many girls attend summer camps together. Players are expected to attend 80 percent of the team practices and games.
This winter, while our 9th grade players played school soccer, the 8th grade girls continued their training by playing indoor soccer at Off the Wall Soccer and participating in the WVYSL 5v5 league. Past winters, the girls have played futsal.
TEAM HISTORY: This team was formed in January 2012 when the original Revolution team split into the two teams that form this club with this team as the development team. Coach Vinko is assisted by parent Coach Eric Hall, and by team managers Gayatri Rajagopalan and Jun Qian. There is usually at least one parent at practice.
The team started in the CCSL copper bracket. After a strong Fall 2014 finish (2nd in Copper), the team moved up to the CCSL bronze bracket this Spring.
WHO WE ARE: Revolution White has a really nice group of girls who are active in soccer, but also many other activities. Several are involved with Destination Imagination, and have made the national competitions. Many of the girls are top students who represent their school in academic competitions. And many of them play on multiple school intramural teams in addition to soccer.
