PRACTICE/TRAINING: This team practices on a Mon/Wed schedule in the late afternoon
to allow girls to complete school activities and homework before practice.
We take a break during the winter school soccer season and a six week long summer break; we are usually off on major holidays. In the pre-season, the girls typically play a scrimmage a week.
Optional clinics and training are available throughout the year as well, and many girls attend summer camps together. Players are expected to attend 80 percent of the team practices and games.
This winter, most of our players will play school soccer. During this time, regular soccer is not an option without violating CCS rules. Since 5v5 small sided games and futsal is permitted, we are planning to have a winter futsal and a 5v5 team for any girls who do not play school soccer, and for any who want to join their friends for a game from time to time. We will also continue our tradition of occasional community service activities or social activities. We will resume practice in late February.
TEAM HISTORY: This team was formed in January 2012 when theoriginal Revolution team split into the two teams that form this club, with this team as the development team. The team played in the copper bracket through 2013. After a strong Fall 2013 finish (2nd in Copper), the team moved up to the CCSL bronze bracket in Spring 2014, where they have continued to improve, finishing in 1st or 2nd in league play and tournament play at the bronze level. Coach Vinko is assisted by team managers Gayatri Rajagopalan and Jun Qian.
WHO WE ARE: Revolution White has a really nice group of girls who are active in soccer, but also many other activities. Several are involved with Destination Imagination, and have made the national competitions. Many of the girls are top students who represent their school in academic competitions. And many of them play on multiple school intramural teams in addition to soccer.
WV Revolution White moved to the Bronze bracket this Spring. As the results show, the team has been very competitive at this level and thereforecould move up again next year.
