The West Valley Surf Girl’s 99, coached by Scott Sawyer, finished 1st in their bracket, and took 2nd place overall in the U11 Girl’s Division.  With such a successful showing they are looking forward to competing at a high level for the upcoming Fall CCSL Season in the Coast Silver Division.

Other notables include:

1. Completed registration form 1601. Please list the player name as it appears on his/her birth certificate. Be sure and sign the registration form. Registration forms will not be complete until the signature is obtained.
2. The fee for Micro Soccer is $80 per player.
3. Bring the registration form and the money to the Micro Sessions on Wednesday (5:00 – 6:30 pm) or Saturdays (9:30 – 11:00 am) at Easterbrook Discovery School on Doyle Ave.  (access to the field is from Marilla Ave.).

• GENERAL OVER OF OUR MICRO PROGRAM
  • We group the players by age (not hard & fast rule, we’ll work with friends who need to be together!!)
  • Players will be introduced to individual and team soccer skills and have a small sided game, generally at each session.  We stress fun, at the same time, learning about the wonderful game of soccer.
  • We meet Wed – 5-6:30 pm (3 y/o’s usually last about 1 hour!), and Sat – 09:30-11 am
  • Location: Easterbrook Discovery School (EDS) (formally Rogers MS) 4835 Doyle Road, SJ – field is off Marilla Ave, next to the parking lot (look for the MICRO sign)
  • Restrooms are available at EDS, look for the red cone
• UNIFORMS: We provide a full kit (jersey/shorts/socks), you will need to provide shin guards (a bit of close contact at times!), and either tennis shoes/soccer boots (don’t spend too much for soccer boots, as you keep feeding your child, they outgrow them really fast!).
  • For shin guards/soccer boots – I recommend Soccer International  3270 Keller St, Santa Clara 95054 408-213-5425 (www.soccerintl.com) – mention West Valley and receive a 20% discount.
• COACHES: Iris and Mario are the primary Micro Coaches, who will need assistance as noted:
  • Iris & Mario will need about 3 or 4 parents to assist for each age group each session, and assist for at least 3/4 weeks, then a new group of volunteers.  If you assist for over half the program, you’ll receive a handsome WV Maroon coaches Polo (what a deal!).  No experience needed, they will instruct on what’s needed.
• FIELD & EQUIPMENT: WV provides marked mini soccer fields, soccer goals, and abundant number of #3 soccer balls.
• Bring water for the player(s). We have water breaks, so please bring something so they can be refreshed.

Summary of what WV needs from the parents:

We need assistance on the first day to check in, and issue uniforms.  Iris, Mario and I will be at the field by 4:30 pm, so don’t be bashful about helping the first day move smoothly.  Your early response on helping the:  1st Day, checking in players and issuing the uniform kits is appreciated.

  • Check in – 2 or 4 parents
  • Issue Uniform Kits - 4 or 6 parents
• 3 or 4 Volunteer Coaches for each age group (3′s, 4′s, 5′s)
• 1 or 2 parent(s) to assist marking the fields every 2 weeks
• Ongoing (for about a month)
  • 1 (or more) parent(s) maintain our supply of Uniform Kits to issue to new players
  • 1 (or more) parent(s) give and receive back registration forms
