Registering to Coach a Recreational Team
If you intend to coach a recreational team, please obtain
a coach registration form 1628 from here.
Team Placement for Recreational
Players
Registration is on a
"first-come, first-served" basis. A player is
assigned to a team based upon the date of registration
and coach availability for the age group of the player.
If an insufficient number of coaches volunteer, the
players with later registration dates will be placed on
a waiting list for the appropriate age group.
If a parent volunteers to coach or assistant
coach, their child player is placed on their team regardless
of the player’s registration date.
Same team friend request
If a player has a request to be on the same team as his
or her friend every effort will be made to make this happen.
However, we cannot guarantee that a request can be honored.
Write your request on the top of the registration form.
Same team coach request
If a player has a request for a particular
coach, provided this coach is registered to coach, coaching
the same age group, boys or girls every effort will be made
to make this happen. However, we cannot guarantee that a
request can be honored. Write your request on the top of
the registration form.
Playing Time for Recreational Players
WVYSL instructs its recreational
coaches to give every player at least 50% playing time
in every game. Exceptions may be made for disciplinary
reasons, after consulting with the parent. |
