Registration form 

Registration fees for Spring 2008 are:

  • Non CYSA player that play tournament only $25.00
  • Returning player from fall of 2007 $90.00
  • New players for spring $105.25

Registration fees for Fall 2008 season are:

  • Micro:  $100.00 
  • Rec:  $135.00 
  • Comp:  $160.00

Volunteer form - required for all teams.

Registration is handled according to USYSA guidelines.  Regardless of the playing level, a USYSA Membership (registration) form must be completed and signed by the parent or legal guardian.  Following items are required for registration.

  1. Completed registration form 1601. Please list the player name as it appears on his/her birth certificate. Be sure and sign the registration form in two places. You must sign in the box marked IMPORTANT that you will follow the rules and regulations of US Youth Soccer. The second signature is in the Consent For Medical Treatment box. Registration forms will not be complete until both signatures are obtained.
  2. Copy of the player's birth certificate or other government-stamped document showing proof of age (such as a passport). Hospital and religious certificates are not acceptable. If the birth certificate is in a foreign language and if you do not have a passport for the child, form 1627 Foreign Document Translation From must be attached. 
  3. Player Photo. The photos are used on the player pass card and must meet the District Registrar’s criteria. The photo should be a 1” x 1” square of the players head. It cannot be a side view. There are no hats or sunglasses allowed, even if the hat is back on their head. No Polaroid photos are allowed.
  4. Correct registration fee above. Make checks payable to WVYSL.

Micro Soccer (U6)

Participants in the U6 program play in the Micro Soccer format, with small-sided games to encourage skill development. Click here for registration information.

Recreational Players (U8 - U19)

  • Participants in the U8 through U19 recreational program will play nine to 10 games on Saturdays. Teams are coaches by parent volunteers. For development of player skills, West Valley league offers a help of professional trainers associated with MLS Camps (the official youth soccer camps of San Jose Earthquakes) at no cost to the teams. Throughout the season, the league will hold skill development clinics at a discounted price for all of its players. 
  • Registration fees are $135.
  • Registration fee includes USYSA membership fee, uniform (shirt, shorts, and socks), injury insurance, referee for the games, participation award, and a picture package.

Comp/Select (U9 - U19)

  • Competitive/Select player registration fee is $160 for all ages. The fee includes USYSA membership fee, injury insurance, referee fee for the games, participation award, and a picture package. Uniforms are NOT included.

  • In addition to the registration fees, comp/select players maybe asked to pay for uniform, training, tournament and other fees.

  • In addition to 10 season games, comp/select teams may play in a number of tournaments.

Financial assistance is available for players in need. Please submit a written request to the league.

West Valley league is 100% volunteer organization. We need parent volunteers to coach, as well as run the league. If you are interested in helping, please talk to us at the registration or contact us by email to secretary@wvysl.org.

 
 
 
There are NO tryouts for West Valley recreational teams.

Refund

  • Full refund ONLY if child cannot be placed on a team. 
  • For any other reasons, partial refund of all but $40, for administrative costs, until the first game. 
  • No refunds at all after the first game.
  • Requests for refund must be made to the league in writing.

Season

The fall season will begin in early September.  Most age groups will complete their schedule by Thanksgiving.

Equipment

For safety reasons, CYSA and West Valley require all players to wear shin guards at every practice and game. Players without shin guards will not be allowed to play in any game. Socks should cover the entire shinguard for additional protection. Shoes with cleats are optional. Baseball cleats are not allowed. Parents provide the shin guards and shoes.
